The origins: four generations of passion for tomatoes
The passion for tomatoes is linked to our family history. Talking about Steriltom means talking about Squeri family, which for four generations has been managing a company with deep roots in territory and an eye on the world. Founded in 1934 by Dario Giuseppe Squeri in Piacenza- in the heart of the production of Italian tomato - Steriltom is market leader in the Tomato Pulp processing for Food Service and Industrial sectors.
A pioneer heart has been beating in our company since when it was founded. In 1953, with the acquisition of Conserve Alimentari Corradi company, the symbol brand “Due Fagiani” came into existence, which still represents the most characteristic range of the company in the world. 1968 marked another turning point in the history of tomato processing. Accompanied by Ghiretti company, Carlo Squeri – Dario Giuseppe’s son- plans and realizes the first industrial machine for Tomato Pulp production. In these years the first export in Europe and in the world start under the “Due Fagiani” brand. In 1992 the Squeri family introduced the “bag in box” technology into the tomato market. The company is known as Steriltom and started a growth which was to make it the absolute leader in its area.
Nowadays, with more than 2.300.000 tons of fresh tomato processed into Tomato Pulp, we’re the biggest European producer of this product for Horeca/Food Service and Industrial channels.
